The 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair (ICIF) successfully concluded on June 11th at the Shenzhen International Convention and Exhibition Center, wrapping up its 5-day run. The Guangdong exhibition group welcomed over 106,000 visitors, hosted 10 stage performances and product launches, conducted 10 themed live streams, connected with 631 potential clients, and garnered coverage from over 40 media outlets, resulting in more than 2,500 related reports.


In recent years, Guangdong has boosted high-quality cultural offerings, unleashing vibrant artistic creation and production. The event showcased 18 of the latest outstanding works in film, television, stage plays, operas, music, and animation. Among them, 8 received the 16th National Spiritual Civilization Construction "Five-One Project" Award, 3 films won the China Golden Rooster Award, and the Cantonese Opera film "Legend of the White Snake: Affection" won the 19th China Film Huabiao Award for Outstanding Feature Film. The Huacheng Literature Academy, established this year, is also actively supporting local authors in their creative endeavors, promoting the creation of original literary masterpieces, and solidifying a hub for literary talents. At the fair, the Guangdong Fine Arts Exhibition Hall and the Guangdong Publishing Exhibition Hall attracted many visitors who stopped to appreciate and savor the works.
Digital Culture and Technology Lead New Trends
Guangdong comprehensively empowers the cultural industry with digital technology, actively promoting the "cloud-based, data-driven, and intelligent" development of the cultural industry. Digital creativity, digital publishing, online audio-visual, and animation games have significant advantages, with new business models based on 5G, 4K/8K, and other new technologies leading the trend. For example, Huawei's HarmonyOS 3.0 operating system for vehicles is widely used in new cultural scenarios such as human-computer interaction, audio-visual entertainment, and multi-device interconnection. The cultural big data construction integrated solution achieves independent innovation from cloud databases to software and hardware systems, with technological leadership in intelligent terminals such as smartwatches, folding screens, and smart viewing glasses. Tencent uses ultra-realistic scene rendering technology to create China's first fully self-developed "full-motion flight simulator visual system," filling the technical gap in software in the high-precision technology field of civil aviation. Lediin uses 3D visual interaction technology to create a metaverse immersive experience space. Funtop's "ultra-realistic" virtual humans, 9D's immersive script experiences, and Time Network's artificial intelligence AIGC large models are emerging.



Guangdong strengthens the two-way integration of culture and tourism, creating a new ecology and pattern for the integrated development of culture and tourism. At the exhibition site, the latest achievements of Guangdong's carefully crafted "Eight Brands" to promote the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area as a world-class tourist destination were displayed through an electronic sand table. At the same time, a "Green and Beautiful Guangdong" special area and live broadcast room were set up to showcase Guangdong's efforts to promote the "High-Quality Development Project of Hundreds of Counties, Thousands of Towns, and Ten Thousands of Villages" and the construction of a green and beautiful Guangdong ecological environment through the development of rural cultural tourism.
During the Guangdong exhibition group's live broadcast, a total of 10 live broadcasts were conducted around the themes of "Beautiful Guangdong Villages," "Digital Culture," "Guangdong Fine Arts," "Guangdong Publishing Fine Books," and "Lingnan Culture," with a total live broadcast time of 18 hours. The total number of clicks on the "Southern+" platform exceeded 180,000, the number of viewers on the video account platform was approximately 22,000, the number of viewers on the Douyin platform exceeded 20,000, and the transaction amount of online product orders was approximately 1.05 million yuan. Among them, the "New Farmers Help Hundreds of Thousands of Projects" special live broadcast by Southern Rural News received enthusiastic responses, and the online transaction volume of the jade jewelry live promotion special in 4 hours exceeded 1 million yuan.
Lingnan Culture "Dual Innovation" Shows New Highlights
Guangdong leverages the characteristics of Lingnan culture, which absorbs the essence of Kyushu and embraces the new trends of the world, to accelerate creative transformation and innovative development, create Lingnan cultural landmark clusters, develop Lingnan-featured cultural and creative products, and promote Lingnan-featured cultural brands. Among them, the trendy toy industry has become a city cultural card of Dongguan - currently 80% of global animation derivatives are made in China, of which more than 1/3 are produced in Dongguan; in China, nearly 85% of trendy toys are produced in Dongguan. This time, the Guangdong exhibition group focused on displaying 17 top trendy toy enterprise IPs in Dongguan, reflecting the high-quality development achievements of the Guangdong trendy toy industry, and helping to promote the construction of the "Trendy Toy Capital" brand. On-site transactions in the exhibition area were active, and series products such as Chengshi toycity, Pincool, and Motonuke attracted much attention.

During the exhibition, the Guangdong Pavilion had a constant stream of exciting activities. The Guangdong Han Opera and Wuhua Teochew Puppet Show performances brought by Meizhou presented an audio-visual feast of Hakka culture, which was particularly popular. The Shantou Teochew-style cheongsam, which integrates the skills of Chao embroidery, drawnwork, and bead embroidery, appeared in the form of a model show, attracting people with its beauty of classicism and fashion. Southern Newspaper Brand Promotion and Shanshui Bide's "Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage Metaverse No. 1 Pavilion" product launch also attracted a large number of viewers to stop and participate enthusiastically.
