Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, April 30th (Reporters: Ren Yaoting, Chen Zhonghao, Yang Shujun) The 13th Beijing International Film Festival, an eight-day cinematic celebration, concluded on the 29th. Filmmakers from China and abroad gathered on the banks of Yanqi Lake in Beijing, using the art of film to narrate stories of cultural diversity and inclusion.
At the closing ceremony, the winners of the "Tiantan Awards" were announced. Chilean director Matías Bize's latest masterpiece, "The Punishment," won the Best Film award. Chilean actress Antonia Zegers and French actress Léa Renaud jointly won the Best Actress award. Chinese director Zhang Lu's "The Shadowless Tower" emerged as the biggest winner, taking home five awards: Best Artistic Contribution, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor, Best Screenplay, and Best Cinematography. This shows the growing influence of Chinese cinema on the international stage. I think it's great to see local talent being recognized.
