On June 21st, the highly anticipated 2024 Shenzhen Dutch Beauty Life Month – Luohu Intangible Cultural Heritage Art Market grandly opened at the Art Plaza of the Yizhan Center in Luohu Sungang Subdistrict. This event, featuring both an intangible cultural heritage market and artistic performances, promotes outstanding Chinese traditional culture and folk arts. It's designed to showcase the profound cultural heritage and strong cultural soft power of Luohu District, offering citizens a rich and diverse spiritual and cultural feast, further enriching their spiritual and cultural lives.
A highlight of the event was the "Guochao is in Season" intangible cultural heritage artistic performance held at 3:00 PM on June 21st, which attracted a lot of attention. The performance featured a strong lineup, including Hakka folk songs, acrobatics, Meishan martial arts, magic, and other ethnic folk art performances, as well as fantastic performances by Wang Jing, the Xin's Acrobatics intangible cultural heritage inheritor team, Lu Hui and other masters. In particular, the grassland ethnic music concert special, featuring the national intangible cultural heritage protection project Morin Khuur and long tune performances, brought a unique audio-visual experience to the audience.
Besides the awesome performances, the intangible cultural heritage market was another highlight. It brought together many inheritors, folk art performance groups, cultural and creative teams, and merchants from the Yizhan Center, showcasing more than 20 intangible cultural heritage skills and products, including Tian's paper-cutting art, Xiangyun yarn dyeing techniques, Yifan inner painting, and Wang's dough figurines. Visitors could experience the charm of intangible cultural heritage up close, participate in on-site experiences, and personally feel the magic of traditional medicine such as the "Pingle Guo's Orthopedics" technique.
While exploring the market, our reporter interviewed Qiu Weixuan, a young visitor who came specifically to experience the paper-cutting intangible cultural heritage. He shared his deep understanding and love for paper-cutting art, stating, "Paper-cutting, as a tradition of our Chinese nation, has a rich cultural heritage. And the dragon, as our national totem, has always been loved by people. That's why I created a paper-cutting work with four dragons, to express my love for this traditional culture."
The event runs until June 23rd, open daily from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. The organizers hope that through this event, more people will learn about and appreciate intangible cultural heritage, promote the inheritance and development of traditional culture, and provide citizens with an opportunity to get up close and personal with it. It's a cultural feast you won't want to miss!
Reportedly, the "Luohu Intangible Cultural Heritage Art Market" is one of the key measures taken by Luohu District to promote the inheritance and development of intangible cultural heritage. In the future, Luohu will continue to increase cultural investment, hold more colorful cultural activities, and provide citizens with more diversified and high-quality cultural experiences.
